  1. Mike & The Mechanics greatest hits album Hits is a very unique reflection of one of the more lesser known acts of the 80's. The songs on the import edition, the original edition have been remastered graciously well, and without almost any missed opportunities of feel good music/5().

  4. Mike & The Mechanics - Word of Mouth () WOG RATING: **** 's Word of Mouth wins the award for being the most under-rated Mechanics album. The project was just pushed in under the radar before Mike Rutherford returned to Genesis for the We Can't Dance album, and may have suffered in the process. While Mouth was not really a commercially successful release, it remains one of my top two.
  5. The most famous member is Phil Collins but there is Peter Gabriel and Mike Rutherford who formed his own group, Mike and the Mechanics. This compilation is the first record of the group I believe. Their songs have a soothing, calm, inspirational effect on me while I listen driving my car/5().

  7. For most of M6, Mike + the Mechanics play it fairly safe, offering strongly melodic adult contemporary material with excellent performances. It's the rare track, however, that is truly captivating. The band continues to experiment with electronica influences, though, and it is on those tracks, the anthems "Now That You've Gone" and "When I Get Over You," where the group offers something.
